Cut-Rate Druggist

Before fate brought them together on tour in 2008, Squeaky and hal9000 Beers had been narrowly missing each other's paths while traversing the music circuit. Hailing from the East Coast and Rocky Mountains, respectively, they were continually on the cusp of crossing trails before destiny finally united them on stage. Having journeyed the world through various bands, including Fabulous Disaster, Nobodys, and Year Of The Fist, their paths converged, leading to the formation of Cut-Rate Druggist.
Now firmly rooted in Oakland, CA, this dynamic duo boasts over 16 years of camaraderie, having shared their musical talents in multiple bands. As the driving force behind Cut-Rate Druggist, they've crafted a unique rock and roll experience, characterized by dual vocals intertwined with heavy drums and a bass guitar, culminating in a crushing wall of sound.
In early 2019, Cut-Rate Druggist emerged on the scene, wasting no time in recording and releasing their explosive 5-song self-titled EP under Heart On Records. Their powerful presence on stage earned them opportunities to support renowned acts such as Team Dresch, Beyond The Lamplight, The Avengers, Koffin Kats, Frightwig, TSOL, Margaritas Podridas and Betty Blowtorch.
In 2022, the band released two standout singles: "Run Rabbit Run" and their rendition of the Ramones classic, "Pet Sematary." The same year saw them touring select cities and making waves with a captivating performance on Berkeley's KALX Live! radio program and a remarkable appearance at Bridge City Fest 3.
Undeterred by the challenges of the pandemic, Cut-Rate Druggist seized 2023 as a year of immense creativity and expansion. They embarked on their first international tour to Japan, conquered the U.S. West Coast, and started writing their much anticipated full length album.
In August 2023, the band released "Have You Seen Her?" through the esteemed Australian label, Fantastic Mess Records. The single garnered radioplay across the U.S., U.K. and Australia, further solidifying their international acclaim. Not ones to rest, they quickly put out a split 7”, featuring their own take on the iconic Portland, Oregon band Wipers' track, "Tragedy”, and toured Australia in the fall supporting Brisbane’s own, Glycereens.
2024 saw more songwriting and a full length recording (2025 Release) that will further showcase the creativity and raw power that this 2-piece showcases. In between studio sessions the band managed to tour around the Rocky Mountains, West Coast and a 10 date Japan tour culminating with an encore live recorded performance.
As they continue to captivate audiences with their electrifying performances and unyielding passion, the future holds great promise for this unstoppable rock and roll force.
