PURE ROOTS & KENYATTA HILL
One of the premier reggae bands to rise on the West Coast, Pure Roots formed in 2007 based out of Santa Cruz, California. Pure Roots is touring & recording with Terry Linen on vocals including their full band & celebrity horns. Pure Roots has shared the stage with international artists such as Bunny Wailer, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse, Israel Vibration & Roots Radics, Marcia Griffiths, The Wailing Souls, The Abyssinians, Don Carlos, Barrington Levy, Michael Rose, Midnite, Ky-Mani Marley, Protoje, Cultura Profectica, Groundation and many more. Pure Roots with Amlak Tafari, are currently in the studio working on the album "Youth Rising," featuring Junior Reid, Ken Boothe, Freddie McGregor & other guests. The single "Higgler Move" mixed and mastered by Scientist is set to release with a music video in Summer 2023. Keep a close eye out for this hard-hitting band.

Kenyatta Hill’s career began the day his father’s ended. Joseph Hill, singer and songwriter for the legendary Jamaican vocal trio Culture, collapsed and died while on a 2006 tour of Europe. To the amazement of promoters, fans and critics alike, Kenyatta stepped onstage and delivered electrifying performances time and again - nineteen shows in all - until the tour was complete. This was unheard of in any genre of music at any time. Kenyatta gave of himself so totally – as his father had for so many years – that the two seemed to become one, the eerily similar voices and the vibes igniting the critics and yielding a new reggae mantra “magic, not tragic!”
